The original, scholarly, unpublished articles/papers are invited from research scholars, teachers and academicians on the given sub-themes with reference to the above seminar theme. Papers presented in the seminar will be published in an edited book or a research journal.

Dr. B.R. Ambedkar said that every educational institution from primary school to University College should be an agency of change. Ambedkar strongly held that education should be a priority for the society and utilised for growth of individuals with character. Ambedkar wanted a type of education that not only inculcates awareness and fulfilment of human rights among citizen but also teaches human dignity and justice in India. According to him Education could open the eyes and encourage the oppressed ones to fight and remove injustice and exploitation they are suffering from ages. He recognized that, lack of education was the main cause for the backwardness of poor people. He preferred humanistic education which enables a man to rediscover himself and ensure freedom rather than being a student of the church, school or the state. He put all his efforts to ensure the educational opportunities to all the citizens of independent India without any discrimination, for which he framed fundamental rights in the Indian Constitution. The participants of the seminar would critically engage with different aspects of the philosophy of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and their applications in socio-political context of the nation.

This Seminar titled Philosophy of “Dr. B.R. Ambedkar in Socio- Political Context” is proposed to discuss the philosophy of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar in academic context. In the 21st century as our nation is witnessing the inequality, injustice, economic backwardness etc. are mostly fuelled by the caste discrimination and caste violence among the various castes. To eradicate all these social evils, Ambedkar’s work to build a just and egalitarian society is more necessary for not only to understand the social orders but also to remove the present day’s social evils of the Indian society.The papers can be presented in English or Hindi language. The following sub-themes will be discussed in the seminar by the invited speakers and research scholars:
